London E-Business Photography Programme
I won a UK government tender for a large photography project to capture a sample of the one thousand small businesses that have been helped by the London E-Business Support Programme. The funding came from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and delivered by a consortium of seven business support organisations located all over London but lead by one of them, Enterprise Enfield.
The aim of the photography project was to showcase a small number of the businesses that had made good use of digital technology to enhance their online presence and so attracting more customers to ultimately increase their sales.
I really enjoyed travelling to many parts of the capital city I had never been to before and found I had a lot in common with the small businesses since I am one myself. A common theme was how getting an outside expert to coach us through our weakest skills was so valuable - we all have our core expertise in e.g leatherwork, jewellery making, photography, art show curation or vegan ice cream manufacturing but that hasnβt imbued any of us with any digital marketing skills, so special effort is needed and external help has to be sought.
